Imogen's first gluten free Christmas

How is your first gluten free Christmas?
We asked Kerry, mum to Imogen. who was diagnosed with coeliac disease earlier this year how her first gluten free Christmas is going so far.
Meet Kerry & Imogen
As a mum to a newly diagnosed little girl I am feeling a little anxious and overwhelmed but we can do this, it is going to be okay!
I know this Christmas is going to be different but different in a good way. This will be the best Christmas for Imogen because I know she is going to feel so much better and be able to enjoy it!
Our new norm is checking labels! Christmas is full of so many treats - advents calendars, selection boxes, stocking fillers.... I am so pleased that there are so many yummy gluten free treats available out there.
Gluten free Christmas at home and eating out
We have so many festive outings planned, it just means pre-planning, calling places beforehand and making packed lunches.
On Christmas Eve, we have always gone out for food with friends. I didn't want us to not go as it's part of our Christmas festivities. I've searched local pubs that cater for gluten free and have found one who fully understand coeliac disease and cross contamination - we are very excited!
This year Christmas dinner is going to be at home and we will all eat gluten free to keep it stress free. Turkey, veg, potatoes and sprouts are naturally gf which is a bonus. We will make stuffing, pigs in blankets, gluten free gravy and Yorkshire puddings using Juvela all purpose White Mix which Immy gets on prescription. It just means adjusting and preparing it differently to make sure it's all safe. Plus, it will work out cheaper than prepacked foods - bonus!!
We are all looking forward to a more enjoyable, safer and happier gluten free Christmas this year!
- Kerry
