Prawn Toasts

These deliciously crunchy sesame prawn toasts make a great starter or party canape!

Ingredients

4 slices Juvela Gluten-Free White Sliced Loaf
2 tbsp sesame seeds
3-4 tbsp vegetable oil
150g raw shelled tiger prawns (you can also use cooked prawns)
1 tsp freshly grated ginger
1 tbsp Juvela Gluten-Free White Mix (or corn flour)
1 egg white
2 spring onions roughly chopped
A dash of sesame oil
A dash gluten-free soya sauce

Method

  1. Remove crusts from the bread and cut into triangles.
  2. In a food processor, whizz together the prawns, ginger, Mix, egg white, spring onion, sesame oil, and soya sauce to form a thick paste.
  3. Spread a thick layer of the paste over each triangle of bread and top generously with sesame seeds.
  4. Heat the oil in a large frying pan over a high heat, and shallow fry the toasts (prawns side down first) for approx 2 minutes each side until lightly golden.
  5. Transfer onto kitchen roll to drain any excess oil whilst frying the remaining triangles.
  6. Perfect served with sweet chilli sauce.
