Katsu Chicken Burger

Succulent chicken strips coated in breadcrumbs with a tasty katsu curry sauce - packed into a Juvela roll. A perfect al fresco lunch!

Makes 2

  • 2 Juvela Gluten Free Rolls (Fresh or Longlife)
  • 1 chicken breast, cut into 6 chunky strips
  • 2tbsp Juvela Gluten Free White Mix
  • I medium egg, lightly beaten
  • 50g breadcrumbs, made from a Juvela Gluten Free Loaf or Roll
  • Handful of salad leaves
  • 1 tomato, thickly sliced
  • 4tbsp katsu curry sauce*
  • Method

    1. Dip each strip of chicken in the Mix, then into the egg, and then coat evenly with the breadcrumbs.
    2. Place on baking tray and bake in a preheated oven (200°C/180°Fan/400°F/Gas Mark 6) for 15 minutes, turning frequently until golden OR heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a frying pan, and pan fry on a medium heat for approx 5minutes each side until golden brown and cooked through.
    3. Cut a Juvela roll in half (if you are using the longlife rolls, pop in the microwave for a few seconds or lightly toast to refresh).
    4. Add salad leaves, sliced tomatoes and 3 strips of chicken per roll.
    5. Top with katsu sauce *(you can make your own or buy a jar of sauce, many of which are GF).
    6. Pop the roll lid on and enjoy - hopefully in the sunshine!
