Pizza Fiorentina

Want to visit Italy without leaving your kitchen? Give this rustic pizza recipe a go! Also known as a Fiorentina Pizza, this traditional pizza is famously topped with an egg.

  • 1 Juvela Gluten Free Pizza Base
  • 5tbsp passata/pizza topping
  • 75g mozzarella, torn into chunks or grated
  • 1 medium egg
  • Handful of spinach leaves
  • Freshly grated parmesan to serve
  • Method

    1. Preheat the oven to 200°C/180°C Fan/400°F/Gas Mark 6
    2. Spread the passata evenly over the pizza base and scatter with mozzarella.
    3. Wilt the spinach by pouring boiling water onto it. Squeeze out excess water.
    4. Arrange the spinach on top of the base and carefully crack the egg into the middle of the pizza.
    5. Place on a non-stick baking tray and bake for 12 – 15 minutes until the pizza is piping hot, the cheese is golden and the egg is set.
