French Toast

Healthy Living Ellie is a gluten free blogger that we've teamed up with to make recipes that are as good for you as they taste! This healthy twist on French Toast is perfect for a weekend brunch.

Ingredients

2 thick-cut slices of Juvela Unsliced White Loaf
1 egg
40ml milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon
Topping ideas:
Sugar-free syrup, Fresh fruit, Icing sugar or cinnamon

Method

  1. In a bowl, beat the egg and add the rest of the ingredients. Mix well.
  2. Cut two thick slices from the white loaf and place in the batter. Make sure that each side of the bread is evenly coated with the batter.
  3. Heat a frying plan over medium heat and spritz with spray oil. Alternatively, use butter or olive oil.
  4. Place bread on the pan and cook each side for 2-3 minutes
  5. Once the bread has browned, place on a plate and add your toppings. Eat while warm and enjoy!
