Ingredients
| 100g butter | |
| 100g dark chocolate | |
| 100g Juvela Gluten Free White Mix | |
| ½ tsp baking powder | |
| 1tbsp cocoa | |
| 75g golden caster sugar | |
| 65ml milk | |
| 2 medium eggs |
Method
- In a large bowl, melt the butter and chocolate (either in a microwave or over a pan of simmering water), stirring occasionally.
- Allow to cool slightly. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine the Mix, baking powder, cocoa and sugar.
- Whisk together the eggs and milk and add to the dry ingredients, along with the melted chocolate. Beat together until thoroughly combined.
- Transfer mixture into an 8inch round cake tin and bake in a preheated oven (180°C/160°C Fan/350°F/Gas Mark 4) for about 15-20minutes until well risen and firm to touch.
- Once cooled, cut cake into 8 equal pieces and then, using a sharp knife, trim the curved edge to make it straight.
- To decorate, make some glace icing with icing sugar and water, and add a little green food colouring. Using a piping bag, pipe a zig zag pattern across each triangle. We then used gluten free green cupcake sprinkles and gluten free red mini chocolate beans (widely available online) to decorate our trees, but you can use any suitable decorations!
