Baked Doughnuts

Wow - gluten free doughnuts! These fabulous sweet treats can be made in minutes and decorated in lots of fun colours!

Ingredients

250g Juvela Gluten Free White Mix
250g caster sugar
½ tsp salt
½ tsp baking powder
200ml whole milk
1 medium egg
1tsp vanilla extract
50g natural yoghurt
For the icing:
150g caster sugar
Water (a few drops to make the icing)
Pink food colouring (optional)
Gluten Free Sprinkles (optional)

Method

  1. Mix all dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
  2. Add the wet ingredients and combine well to make a smooth batter.
  3. Pour the batter into a doughnut mould and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C/160°C/Gas Mark 4 for 20 minutes.
  4. Remove the doughnuts from the mould and let them cool completely on a wire rack before icing.
  5. To make the icing, place the sugar in a bowl and stir in a small amount of water - gradually add a few drops of water until you have the desired consistency. For coloured icing, add a dash of food colouring.
  6. Once the doughnuts have cooled, place them into the icing until fully coated (then add sprinkles if using) and leave to set on a wire rack.
