Did you miss our Instagram Live tutorial last week?
15.07.2021 | by Juvela
Our next Instagram Live is on Thursday 22nd July at 7pm. Tune in to learn how to make your own gluten free Scotch eggs!
We’ve teamed up with The Gluten Free Blogger, Sarah Howells, to host a series of Instagram Lives to help you discover how delicious (and easy to prepare) gluten free food can be.
Scotch eggs are a perfect savoury snack for picnics and lunchboxes, but they’re often not suitable for coeliacs as they’re made with breadcrumbs. This easy step-by-step live tutorial will show you that homemade gluten free Scotch eggs are even better than shop-bought ones anyway.
For a perfect golden crumb, use the Juvela White Loaf. Find out about taking our products on prescription or visit our shop website to purchase a Juvela Gluten Free Box.

4 large eggs (boiled for 7 minutes – or 5 minutes for a runny yolk – then cooled in ice cold water)
4 slices Juvela Gluten Free Fresh White Loaf or Juvela Gluten Free Long-Life White Loaf
3-4 tbsp Juvela Gluten Free White Mix
1 large egg
Salt and pepper
6 gluten free pork sausages
½ tsp dried sage
½ tsp dried thyme
Oil for frying (around 1 litre – you want this to be approx. 5cm (2 inches) deep in the pan)
Food processor
3 plates (for the breadcrumbs, flour and eggs separately)
A saucepan
A slotted spoon is also useful for lowering the scotch eggs into the oil!
