Our Ingredients
The Juvela Seal of Quality - Juvela guarantee that all its gluten-free foods are specifically made for people with the coeliac condition to enjoy as part of a healthy, well balanced gluten-free diet.
Juvela use a dedicated gluten-free bakery, as well as specially assessed and approved gluten-free environments to make their products.
Not all gluten-free products taste the same as their traditional gluten-containing counterparts. That is because alternative flours, such as maize, rice or potato, are used and just cannot reproduce the same texture and taste qualities of wheat based baked foods.
Gluten-Free Wheat Starch…
Many of the Juvela products are made using a special ingredient called gluten-free wheat starch. This is proven to provide coeliacs with foods that are much more comparable to the quality of traditional gluten-containing foods. This is really important, as we all want to enjoy the food we eat and by using gluten-free wheat starch, you are more likely to enjoy gluten-free foods and so comply better with your diet.
Gluten-free Wheat Starch is made from wheat which has been naturally washed with water to remove the gluten. This gluten-free wheat starch complies with an international gluten-free standard known as Codex Alimentarius and is considered safe for coeliacs. Most people with coeliac disease are able to follow a gluten-free diet containing gluten-free wheat starch. However, a very small minority of people are considered to be 'super-sensitive' therefore, their diet will need to be wheat-free as well as gluten-free. Always check with your dietitian first to see if you require a gluten-free, or a gluten-free, wheat-free diet, as this will affect the choice of foods available to you.
Vitamins & Minerals…
Juvela's Loaves, Rolls, Mixes and Pizza Bases are all supplemented with vitamins B1 B2, B6, niacin, and folic acid, and iron. Juvela loaves and rolls also contain similar, if not higher, levels of calcium than traditional bread.
E numbers…
We don't use any artificial ingredients in our foods. All the E numbers in Juvela products are naturally occurring stabilisers, raising agents and preservatives, which contribute to the overall product quality. Our foods are also free from genetically modified ingredients
