Goats Cheese & Spring Onion Bread

Cubes of creamy goats cheese and sliced spring onions combined to make this quick and tasty bread - ideal served warm and spread with butter.

Before you start, pre-heat the oven to
190°C/375°F/Gas Mark 5

ingredients:

  • 175g (7oz) JUVELA Gluten-Free Mix
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 150g (6oz) potato, peeled and grated (excess moisture removed with kitchen roll)
  • 4 spring onions, finely sliced
  • 1tbsp fresh thyme, roughly chopped
  • 100g (4oz) goats cheese, rind removed and cut into small cubes
  • 1 medium egg, lightly beaten
  • 2tbsp milk

Method:

In a large bowl, mix together the Mix, salt and cayenne. Add the grated potato, spring onions, thyme, and two thirds of the goats cheese.

Beat the egg and milk together and add to the bowl. Bring the mixture together to form a loose dough. Transfer to a greased baking sheet, pat gently into a 15cm (6inch) round and then press the rest of the cheese over the surface.

Bake in a pre-heated oven for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow to cool on a wire rack.
