Apple Crumble

Apple Crumble

Serves 4

A classic pud with tangy apples and a delicious crunchy topping - great served with custard* or ice cream*.

Before you start, pre-heat the oven to
190°C/350°F/Gas Mark 5 and lightly butter a 20cm (8inch) ovenproof dish

ingredients crumble topping:

  • 100g (4oz) JUVELA Gluten-Free Mix
  • 65g (2¼oz) butter
  • 25g (1oz) golden granulated sugar

ingredients fruit filling:

  • 500g (1lb) cooking apples, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 2tbsp water
  • 50g (2oz) sugar
  • 25g (1oz) sultanas
  • 1tsp cinnamon (optional)

Method:

To make the crumble topping, place the Gluten-Free Mix in a large bowl, rub in the butter to resemble breadcrumbs and stir in the sugar.

To make the filling, place the apples in a pan with the water and sugar. Cook for approx. 8 minutes until soft. Stir in the sultanas and cinnamon. Spoon into the prepared dish and top with the crumble topping. Bake in a pre-heated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden.
