your prescription
If you've been medically diagnosed with the coeliac condition, your first port of call for obtaining your gluten-free foods is a prescription.
The amount of food you require per month will differ depending on your age, gender and lifestyle.
Click here to download a useful guide to gluten-free prescriptions. This leaflet is published by the Department of Health and will give you more information about obtaining gluten-free foods on prescription and exactly how much you are entitled to.
The entire Juvela range is available to you on prescription so all of our everyday staple foods can be obtained from your pharmacist. You may then wish to supplement these with other non-staple or luxury items that are on offer in the 'free from' sections of many supermarkets.
Juvela provide a comprehensive ‘starter pack’ which includes a selection of product samples from the range. Your dietitian will give you a Starter Pack request card from Juvela - simply complete your details and return it to us and we'll send you your complimentary starter pack. Alternatively, contact us on our freephone number at the bottom of this page or email us on info@juvela.co.uk.
Once you've received your starter pack (which will be sent out to you within 7 days of application) and you've had a chance to sample the range of gluten-free foods available on prescription, you can decide which ones you like best! You need to set up a repeat prescription with your GP, and then collect* your gluten-free foods from your pharmacy - most people order on a monthly or fortnightly basis but the choice is yours. If you want to change an item or add something new to your prescription, see your GP and ask them to make the necessary change.
*Some pharmacies offer home delivery - ask your pharmacist for further details.
