Lasagne

Description

Rich beef mince layered with tangy tomatoes, creamy white sauce and Juvela Gluten-Free Lasagne sheets. This classic dinner is always a favourite with adults and children!

Ingredients

200g (8oz) Juvela Gluten-Free lasagne sheets
parmesan cheese*
1tbsp olive oil
2 clove garlic, peeled and crushed
1 medium onion, peeled and finely chopped
500g (20oz) lean minced beef
400g (16oz) tin chopped tomatoes
2tbsp tomato puree
100g (4oz) mushrooms, sliced
1tbsp fresh basil, finely chopped
salt and freshly ground black pepper
25g (1oz) butter
25g (1oz) Juvela Gluten-Free mix
575ml (19fl oz) milk
75g (3oz) cheddar cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. Oven temperature: 180°C/350°F/Gas Mark 4
  2. Heat the oil in a large pan and add the garlic and onion and fry gently until soft. Add the minced beef and cook until browned. Stir in the tomatoes and tomato puree* and bring to the boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Add the mushrooms and basil and season to taste.
  3. To make the cheese sauce, place the milk in the pan and bring to just below the boil. In a separate pan, melt the butter and add the Mix, stirring well with a wooden spoon. Gradually add the milk, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens. Sprinkle in the grated cheese and season to taste.
  4. In an ovenproof dish, alternate layers of meat sauce, cheese sauce and lasagne sheets, finishing with a layer of meat sauce and cheese sauce on top. Sprinkle with Parmesan and bake in a preheated oven for 35-40 minutes.
