Steamed Syrup Sponge
Serves 6
Description
Steamed sponge pudding - classic winter warmers for those cold dark nights! Great with custard* or ice cream*
Ingredients
4tbsp syrup
2 medium eggs, beaten
2tbsp water
100g (4oz) light muscavado sugar
100g (4oz) butter, softened
100g (4oz) Juvela Gluten-Free Mix
1tsp baking powder*

Instructions
- You will need: 1 litre (2 pint) pudding basin, greased and base lined
- Spoon the syrup into the base of the pudding basin. Beat together all other ingredients until light and fluffy. Spoon the mixture over the syrup and smooth the top.
- Cover loosely with cling film and microwave on full power for 6 minutes. Leave to stand for 5 minutes before turning out onto a plate. Alternatively, bake in a pre-heated oven (190°C/375°F/Gas Mark 5) for 10-15 minutes until golden.
