Waffles
Description
For an extra special weekend breakfast, these waffles are sure to be a hit - drizzled with maple syrup, topped with honey and sliced banana, or fresh berries with a dollop of natural yoghurt - simply divine!
You can also add other ingredients such as crushed pecans, cinnamon and dried fruit to the batter.
For savoury waffles, omit the sugar and serve with bacon and scrambled egg.
Ingredients
1tsp salt
2tbsp caster sugar
250ml (10fl oz) milk
3 medium eggs (lightly beaten)
100g (4oz) melted butter
1tsp vanilla essence
Instructions
Before you start you will need an electric waffle maker!
To make the batter, combine the Mix, salt and sugar in a large bowl. Add the eggs, milk, vanilla essence and melted butter and beat until smooth. Lightly brush the waffle maker with a little butter, when the waffle maker has reached temperature, pour a layer of batter to cover the bottom plate; close the lid and cook the waffles for 3-4 minutes until golden. Remove from the plates and serve warm with your choice of toppings. To reheat, pop in the toaster for a couple of minutes.
