A healthy gluten-free diet

Enjoying a balanced and healthy diet is important for everyone’s long term health and wellbeing, and that includes people following a gluten-free diet.

The good news is a gluten-free diet can be healthy too! Many newly-diagnosed coeliacs will put on weight after starting a gluten-free diet but this is perfectly normal, as the gut is now healing and food is better absorbed. What is important from now on is to try and eat a well balanced and varied gluten-free diet.

This means all foods can be enjoyed (including the occasional treat!) it’s just a case of choosing the right portion size and the frequency at which different foods are eaten.
