Juvela sits ‘above the salt’ as the debate on salt levels in foods gathers pace…
The Juvela team read with interest the recent research findings of Consensus Action on Salt and Health (CASH) who have looked at the salt levels in free-from food. They acknowledged how some supermarket free-from foods contain higher levels of salt than standard foods.
We at Juvela take nutrition seriously and have for sometime been reviewing the salt levels in all Juvela products as part of our drive to support coeliacs in enjoying a balanced and healthy gluten-free diet. Reducing salt intake can help reduce the risk of a number of health issues including high blood pressure, heart disease and strokes, conditions that the coeliac population are not immune from.
