What - no more Mars Bars?

It has been brought to our attention that all Mars Bars may not be suitable for coeliacs. In the past, Juvela have used standard sized Mars Bars (which were always listed in Coeliac UK’s Food & Drink Directory as gluten-free) as an ingredient in two recipes.

Please be aware that if you have one of these recipes in your collection, it is no longer suitable to make for a coeliac. The recipes in question are Mars Bar Crunch and Mars Munchies. We are in the process of removing these recipes from future prints of recipe booklets.

Mars have confirmed that there have been no changes to the ingredients, recipe or production processes. However, due to the requirements to label the origin of certain ingredients, eg malt extract from barley, Mars were unable to submit products to the Food & Drink Directory.

Its not all bad though - there are still lots of other delicious chocolatey recipes on the recipe pages of the Juvela website - simply click on the recipe link and have a browse through our extensive recipe collection!

Gluten-Free Suet

Christmas pud and dumplings are back on the menu! Last Christmas, we received lots of calls from customers desperate to find a gluten-free suet; although we searched long and hard for a supplier, it was to no avail!!
